Game Preview: Thursday Nov. 30 | Lightning vs. Saint John Riptide

The London Lightning return to Budweiser Gardens tonight to take on the Saint John Riptide in London's second meeting with a team from the Atlantic Conference.

The game is the Lightning's annual "Shine The Light" game, where the Bolts ask fans to join them in wearing purple to shine the light on woman abuse. The Lightning will also be auctioning off their purple jerseys, with all proceeds going to the London Abused Women Centre.

On the court, the Lightning are coming off of a 112-99 win in their home opener against the Halifax Hurricanes. Kirk Williams Jr. came off the bench to lead the Bolts with 23 points. Royce White also added 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.

As for Saint John, they'll look to continue their winning streak after opening the season with two wins, their last one being a 118-114 over the St. John's Edge.

Always a top team in the Atlantic, the Riptide feature former Bolt Gabe Freeman as the centerpiece of their attack. The 2011-12 MVP is still one of the most dangerous forwards with his combination of mid-range shooting, and his ability to get to the rim and convert while adjusting for contact. He's averaging 31.5 points per game this season.

The Riptide also feature the 2015-16 Defensive Player of the Year, Anthony Stover. The UCLA grad is one of the best shot blockers in the league, and pairs with Freeman to make a formidable front court. The backcourt is run by returning point guard Horace Wormley.

Tip-off is Thursday November 30th at 7:00 pm at Budweiser Gardens. Tickets are available online or at the Budweiser Gardens box office.
