Lightning Hit the Road to Face River Lions

The London Lightning (7-5) kick off 2018 by traveling to St. Catharines this afternoon to face the Niagara River Lions (7-7) at seven P.M. at the Meridian Centre.

The two teams wrapped up 2017 with a 119-102 Lightning win this past weekend. Ryan Anderson was the leading scorer with 31 points (including nine threes). Royce White and Garrett Williamson each added 21 points while Doug Herring Jr. recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists.  Marvell Waithe was the River Lions leading scorer with 28 points.

This will mark the fifth time the River Lions and Lightning have met this season. London has won three of the four meetings so far and looks to make it five tonight.

The keys to success for the Lightning are to continue to push the ball in transition to maximize fast break opportunities and to continue to improve on defense. Head coach, Keith Vassell, knows there are still defensive lapses happening, where assignments are missed and break downs happen. If the Lightning continue to gel on offense and tighten up on defense they will be tough to beat this season.
