Lightning Outlast the Storm to Make it 12 in a Row
Friday, January 19, 2018 (London, ON) – The London Lightning and Island Storm traded buckets all game and took it down to the wire on Friday night. The Lightning scored the last basket of the game and came away with a 112-110 win, extending their winning-streak to 12.
The Lightning were up by five points at half time but the Storm shot 57% from the three-point line in the third quarter to take a seven-point lead heading into the final frame.
It was back and forth all game and came down to the last play to decide a winner. The Storm had the ball with 30 seconds remaining but missed a three-point shot, leading to a Lightning fast break and Royce White clinching the win with a dunk with only 2.1 seconds left on the clock.
Joel Friesen-Latty shot six of nine from the three-point line and dropped 26 points along with four rebounds and three steals. White lead all scorers with 30 points and nine rebounds. Garrett Williams was key for the Bolts adding 18 points and seven rebounds. Mo Bolen recorded a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
