Lightning Fall to Express
Sunday, January 28, 2018 (LONDON, ON) – The London Lightning drop their second game in a row losing to the Windsor Express 107-96.
The Lightning once again fell behind early in the game, trailing 54-44 at the half. They managed a surge in the fourth quarter started by Joel Friesen-Latty who hit three buckets in a row but it was to late. Friesen-Latty finished with 19 points.
The Express were hot from beyond the arch while the Lightning lacked energy and missed too many shots. Turnovers and missed assignments on defense were also key issues for the Bolts.
Positive notes for the Lightning were Julian Boyd and Kyle Johnson both returning from injuries. Boyd played solid minutes in his season debut after sitting out a year with a knee injury.
The Lightning will have their chance to turn things around this Thursday, February 1st, as the Windsor Express visit Budweiser Gardens for a rematch at seven P.M. Tickets are available at www.lightningbasketball.ca or the Budweiser Gardens Box Office.
