Lightning Finish Regular Season on Winning Note

Lightning Finish Regular Season on Winning Note

Sunday, April 1, 2018 (LONDON, ON) –  The London Lightning end their regular season play on a winning note defeating the Island Storm 140-136.

Head coach, Keith Vassell, is happy to end the regular season with a win but knows it wasn't pretty. "The focus was not where we wanted it to be, especially preparing for playoffs. I know that Niagara wants us pretty bad; so we gotta make sure we are paying attention to detail and that we are capitalizing on the opportunities we are creating. Even more so in the playoffs, every game matters, every possession matters."

Garrett Williamson lead the Lightning with 25 points and seven rebounds. "We lost focus at the end of the game.  There's a lot at stake [in the up coming playoffs] so the intensity and the focus will pick up. Anyone that comes across us is going to give us their best, we expect it and it's going to be a good series. Anyone is good enough to come back in a game and beat us, we learned that a few times this year… but it's on now. We are playing for a championship, nothing else matters."

Ryan Anderson also notched 25 points for the Bolts including seven threes', along with seven assists. Royce White added 24 points with Kyle Johnson and Marcus Capers scoring 19 a piece.

Up next for the Lightning is Round One of the NBL-C 2018 Playoffs against the Niagara River Lions. The Lightning finished atop the Central Division giving them home court for the first two rounds. Playoff tickets are now available at www.lightningbasketball.ca or the Budweiser Gardens Box Office. Final dates are to be announced, stay tuned to all London Lightning social media channels for date announcements.
