FCFP Pre-Game Inspection: Feb 21st vs. St. John's Edge

1: St. John's long trip to London

Tonight at Budweiser Gardens the London Lightning will take on the visiting St. John's Edge for the fourth time this season. The Lightning are ahead in the season series so far two to one, all being close games, however, with one going to overtime as well. The Edge has had the edge up on their opponents so far this year leading the central division with a 17 and 12 record on the season. February has been a slower month them only going 4 and 4 so far in comparison to the Lightning's red hot 6 and 2. London should be able to capitalize with them playing well and the Edge faltering.

2: Mo and Garrett Connection

Mo Bolden and Garrett Williamson have been true constants for the London Lighting franchise. Both have been with the team for several years and have been a part of each championship team in 2017 and 2018. They are the team's leading scorers this season with Bolden averaging 16.4 points per game and Williamson with 15.4. A big change in the Lightning offence, however, has been the use of these two players as facilitators. The team has the players run the offence, so the opposing defence thinks the play is through them and they are trying to score when its exactly the opposite. The play is about drawing in the defence, so they will leave the other Lightning players open. The use of both these players in this way is shown in their assist numbers over the past five games as well with Bolden averaging 6.4 per game and Williamson averaging 4.8 assists. The offence is rolling and should lead to more victories for the Lightning
