FCFP Pre-Game Inspection: April 13th Round 1 Game 4 at KW Titans

1: Even Match

The KW Titans and the London Lightning had what looked more like a standout win for the Lightning finishing with an eight-point victory, but they had a large lead throughout most of the game and led by 22 at one point. Each team was very close in almost all categories. Offensively, the Lightning shot 49% from the field, 44% from three making 11, and 72% from the free throw line for 28-39 attempts. The Titans shot 48% overall, 41% from deep also on 11 makes and 68% from the charity stripe on 26-38 attempts. All are extremely close with the Lightning just edging out in each category except for total made threes which were equal at 11. London was able to get a bigger discrepancy in other ey categories such as rebounds with 49 compared to KW's 41, assists with 27 to 21, and turnovers which topped out at 15 for the Titans and 13 for the Lightning. You could tell by watching the game that the Lightning had a lot more energy and willingness to move the ball more which looked to be the catalyst for the W on Thursday. The Lightning will need to continue their improved play to keep up with the Titans who were still in the game as the fourth quarter died down.

2: Offensive game to Lean On

The London Lightning are a solid all-around team on the offensive side of the ball, but they need the whole team to click or a really big breakout from one player to succeed, and last night they had both. They had six players scoring in double figures, one had 27, and two had 19. AJ Gaines was the standout being the one to finish with 27 points, and he did it with very efficient shooting going 9 of 14 from the field and 8 of 13 from the free throw line. He was the go-to option the Bolts needed to keep the offence going strong and stay ahead of the Titans. The Lightning will have to have someone step up the way AJ did to continue having a good performance overall and take another win tonight
