London Lightning Fall Short to KW Titans in Overtime Thriller
The London Lightning endured a heartbreaking overtime loss to the KW Titans on Wednesday night after an electrifying battle at Canada Life Place. Despite an early 20-point lead in the first quarter, the Lightning were unable to maintain their momentum, allowing the Titans to take control for much of the game.
The 4th quarter was not shy of having fans at the edge of their seats. Within 8 seconds the crowd saw a theatrical jersey ripped by the Titans Lightfoot, causing a huddle by the referees to determine the next play. That’s when Paul Parks delivered a clutch three-pointer in the closing seconds of regulation to force overtime. Parks was a standout throughout the game, finishing with an impressive 34 points, including a scorching 7-for-11 from beyond the arc. As a rising star for the Lightning, Parks continues to shine and provide a spark for the team in crucial moments.
With Lightning star Billy White fouling out in the first 2 minutes of the overtime, the Titans capitalized on the opportunity, edging out the Lightning and securing a hard-fought win.
As the Lightning regroup from this tough loss, their focus shifts to Saturday, when they take on the Tri-State Admirals at home. The team will then travel to Kitchener on Sunday for a highly anticipated rematch against the Titans.
Stay tuned as the Lightning aim to bounce back and reclaim their dominance on the court.
