London Lightning Split Week with Home Victory and Road Loss
The London Lightning delivered a record breaking performance at home, defeating the Tri-State Admirals in dominant fashion, 160-115. Even with the absence of Billy White and Dexter Williams Jr, who were suspended for foul troubles, the team showcased their offensive firepower in front of a roaring crowd at Canada Life Place.
The scoring was once again led by another outing from Paul Parks. Parks lit up the scoreboard with 32 points and 10 assists, continuing his hot streak and solidifying his role as a key offensive force for the Lightning. Other key performances came from Canadian, Marcus Ottey who illustrated his talents with 27 points, the masked bandit Joel Kindred with 25 points and both the newcomers, Towns ll and Godfrey proved to be great additions to the team.
From the opening tip, the Lightning established control, pushing the pace and sharing the ball effectively. Their suffocating defense forced turnovers that translated into easy transition points, while their three-point shooting remained a consistent threat throughout the game. You could say the Lightning got their former groove back and had fun doing it!
However, the momentum shifted during their road trip to face the KW Titans. The intense rivalry once again proved challenging for the Lightning, as they couldn’t secure a lead in another contested battle. Despite a determined effort, London fell short to their rivals, suffering a disappointing loss. The Titans’ defensive schemes and timely scoring left the Lightning searching for answers on the road.
With this loss, the Lightning fall to 4th in the BSL overall standings, but aim to build back consistency both at home and away. Their recent split highlights the team’s potential and the challenges they face as they prepare for tougher matchups ahead.
