London Lightning Fall to Sudbury Five in Heated Battle, 115-123
(London, ON) The London Lightning battled hard but fell short against the Sudbury Five, losing 115-123 on the road. Despite a late-game surge, an early deficit and key ejections made the comeback effort too steep to overcome.
Tensions flared in the second quarter when Jachai Taylor was ejected after receiving two technical fouls following an altercation. Moments later, Assistant Coach Dave Sewell was also thrown out after disputing an official’s call. With both sidelined, the Lightning fought to rally but couldn’t bridge the gap.
London struggled early, allowing Sudbury to build a commanding first-half lead. Though the Lightning showed resilience in the final quarter, the deficit proved too much as the Five held on for the win.
The two teams will face off again at Canada Life Place this Tuesday for a special Valentine’s Day matchup. Don’t miss the action!
