Bio

Doug Plumb was named the sixth head coach in Lightning franchise history on September 6, 2019. After serving as an assistant coach on the Lightning's 2016 championship team, he was named an assistant coach with the St. John's Edge of the National Basketball League of Canada before being named Head Coach during the 2018-19 season. This is his second stint as a head coach at the professional level.

Plumb is just the second head coach in Lightning franchise history to be re-signed for a third season and one of just three coaches all-time in the National Basketball League of Canada to win multiple Coach of the Year Honours (2022 & 2023) and Championships (2022 & 2023).

Following his third season he ranked second all-time in league history for win percentage with his team holding several league records.

On November 13, 2023 the Lightning announced that Doug would return to the Lightning for his fourth season as the team entered their first season in the Basketball Super League.
